What I Have Learned During This Project

After completing this project, I have learned lots of useful information about causes and effect of poor behaviour in the classroom among the students. As a student, I already knew about many causes of poor behaviour that are not absolutely a good attitude for students. Some of the causes that I have listed have a connection with my life as a student and I wish I can change all of my negative attitude. Besides that, I also have learned about the effects of poor behaviour in the classroom which are not good for a student like me. With all the information collected, I will improve my self and at the same time I hope I can help my friends to overcome their problems too. So not only me, my friends also will get some positive benefits from this project.

Other than that, I also have learned about most of the blog application which I never knew before. From does not have any blog before, but right now I already have my own blog and I'm so proud about this. I think blog is a good medium for information sharing besides get to know many new peoples from all over the world. Blog also is a very useful site and It's easy to manage. So, everyone can have their own blog with just a click. Lastly, I'm very grateful and thanks to my teacher for giving my friends and I an opportunity to done this project successfully.

Things Individual Can do to Prevent The Typical Causes of Poor Behavior In The Classroom

The most important persons that have to take the main role to overcome the typical causes of poor behavior in the classroom are teachers. For your information, discipline is a collection of techniques and strategies a teacher uses to respond to the behavior of a student. According to this definition, discipline is a reaction, a response. It doesn't take place until the behavior has already occurred. However, if a classroom is planned properly, most disciplining will be proactive, rather than reactive, and will take the form of behavior management. A teacher should design a discipline plan that involves foreseeing problems before they become problems. Classroom discipline should concentrate more on behavior management, therefore decreasing misbehavior as well as the need for punishment.

Other than that, parents also have to give a right guide to their children from the beginning because the discipline that children learn at home is the basis for their behavior at school. School discipline should be an extension of home discipline. Parents should view a discipline problem in school as a home problem, too. If your child's teacher reports a discipline problem, such as acting out in the classroom, talk with your child and the teacher and work on a solution together. Try to find comfortable ways of controlling behavior and redirecting the student's energy. This will encourage and develop self-discipline and good work habits.

Parents should know and support the school's rules. Just as at home, classrooms and schools must have rules of conduct. Studies have shown that the most effective schools are those where students, parents, teachers and administrators help set the rules. Children are then encouraged to be self-disciplined. Children should know that their parents expect them to follow school rules. So as a good parents, set a good example because you are the role models for your children.

Some Schools Hiding Discipline Problems

Kota Kinabalu: Some schools in the State are withholding or sweeping disciplinary problems under the carpet, hoping that the Education Department will not find out.

“They should not do this because the problems, if left unchecked, might recur in more damaging manner that could mar the reputation of the schools concerned,” said Sabah Union of Government Teachers chairman Drs Hamid Abdul Rahmat (pic), Sunday.

He noted that some schools had remained silent on student disciplinary problems. That is why their discipline file, when shown to school inspectors, look thin. “

“On the other hand, there are schools having thick files, but this does not necessarily mean they handle the matter accordingly, he said. ”

Schools in the State are required to submit a disciplinary report to the Education Department every three months. But if they encounter serious problems such as fighting or drug abuse, they have to report them immediately.

Meanwhile, aspiring teachers have been advised to consult the Department prior to deciding which field of education they wish to specialise.

He claimed at least 83 teaching graduates in the south-west coast division, three years after their training, had yet to be given postings.

“Currently, because of national development requirement, the Government gives special emphasis to the teaching of Science, Mathematics and English.

“Therefore, the demand for these disciplines is quite high, he said. ”

There is already an ample supply of teachers opting for History, Geography and Bahasa Malaysia, he said, adding that those those interested in teaching choose the most-sought field, instead of the easy ones.

Hamid also advised those involved to be patient and hope the Education Department would look into their plight, adding the Union would do its best to help the affected graduates.

In my opinion, all of this situation should not be happen in our country because this is a serious matter. Ministry of Education must solve this problem as soon as possible because it might recur in more damaging manner that could mar the reputation of the schools as well our country reputation.

I understand why some schools in the State are withholding or sweeping disciplinary problems from the Education Department. They might afraid if their clean reputation goes down because of this problem. But it can’t be done like this because this thing is about the discipline matter. It must be overcome with a proper way and the students that are involved in discipline cases must be punished.

I think this issue is still can be prevent because students are still young and we as an adult should not hiding their wrong attitude but we must guide them to be a discipline students. Meaning, we are the role model and we must shows that discipline is very important in our daily life.

Effects of Poor Behavior In The Classroom

From my opinion, the biggest problem that poor behavior may have in the classroom is the effect it has on the teacher. According to some the stress and fatigue by student poor behavior is enough to cause the teachers to feel burnt out and leave the profession. With it reaches that level or not, it certainly going to leave teachers not working up to the potential in the classroom.

Besides distraction to the students who want to learn, this problem may also give some negative effects to their self such as fails to give close attention to details or makes careless mistakes in schoolwork. Other than that, they may also not follow through on instructions and fails to finish schoolwork, chores, or duties in the workplace. Then, they can have a difficulty in organizing tasks and activities. Lastly, they are easily distracted and often forgetful in daily activities.
